Sunderland will face seven-time European champions AC Milan in the Europa League after being drawn against the Italian giants in the competition’s league phase as reported by the Europa League website on Friday
The Black Cats will travel to the San Siro as part of their first European campaign since 1973.
Sunderland, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, will play eight league-phase matches as they return to European competition.
Bournemouth have also been drawn against AC Milan, although their meeting with the Italian side will take place at home.
The Cherries will be competing in European football for the first time and will also face Spanish side Real Sociedad among their eight league-phase opponents.
