According to reports received by IranWire, security forces arrested the parents and twenty relatives of Rashed Saleh Dastjerdi, a protester killed at the “Se-Rah Simin” intersection in Isfahan, on Friday, July 31, coinciding with his birthday.

Rashed Saleh, 21 and the only child in his family, was shot and killed with live ammunition during protests on Thursday, January 8, on Roodaki Street (Se-Rah Simin) in Isfahan.

“From the very beginning, Rashed’s family was under intense pressure from security agencies. When they were returning his body, they pressured his father to state that his son was a Basij member and that his killers were members of ISIS. From the moment they refused, every aspect of their behavior and words was monitored, and they were harassed under various pretexts.”

This is part of the information received by IranWire regarding the compounded suffering inflicted on the justice-seeking family of Rashed Saleh, one of those killed during the January protests.

IranWire has learned that Rashed Saleh’s parents had invited friends and relatives to gather at his grave on his birthday. Saleh was born on July 31, 2004, and was the family’s only child. His mother and father posted information about the memorial service planned for his birthday at his grave, asking loved ones to join them.
