College football’s Week 0 continues to be the appetizer for the start of the season — and this year’s schedule has a bit more intrigue than recent ones.It once again starts with a game in Ireland, and features a top-15 team (USC) as well as a clash between potential sleepers in the ACC (Virginia and NC State). It starts off with TCU taking on North Carolina in Dublin on Saturday. Bill Belichick’s first season in charge of the Tar Heels turned into a messy 4-8 campaign that didn’t offer much reason for optimism. Will Year 2 be any better? A win against TCU would mark a considerable step forward considering the Horned Frogs thumped the Tar Heels 48-14 in Chapel Hill in last season’s opener. This time, TCU is favored by 8.5 points.Three of the last four games in Dublin have been decided by three points.Where UNC stands entering Year 2 under Bill BelichickBrendan Marks and Lauren Morales-JonesThe next game on the slate is No. 14 USC, the only top-25 team in action, taking on San Jose State. The Trojans bring back quarterback Jayden Maiava and are favored by a whopping 38.5 points at the Coliseum. If a 38.5-point spread doesn’t sound appealing, three games on Saturday feature spreads of less than a touchdown. Virginia is favored by 4.5 points against NC State, Stanford hosts Hawaii as a 4-point favorite and UNLV is a 4.5-point favorite in the nightcap against Memphis.NC State at Virginia was originally scheduled to be played in Brazil before being moved to Charlottesville. Virginia made the ACC title game last year, but NC State has won four in a row in the series, including a 35-31 game last season.UNLV and Memphis could be a big one in the College Football Playoff race among Group of 6 conferences. Both teams are among the favorites to win their conferences.Florida State is another big name program in action. The Seminoles are 31.5-point favorites against New Mexico State. FSU has had two losing seasons in a row since controversially being left out of the four-team CFP in 2023 despite a 13-0 record.Below is a look at the odds for all eight Week 0 games involving FBS teams.Week 0 college football oddsNorth Carolina vs. TCU (in Dublin)San Jose State at No. 14 USCNC State at VirginiaJacksonville State at North Dakota StateSacramento State at Eastern MichiganHawaii at StanfordNew Mexico State at Florida StateMemphis at UNLV
