BACOLOD CITY —A 34-year-old Chinese national allegedly linked to illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO) was arrested by immigration and police authorities in Bacolod City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Thursday.

BI identified the suspect as Xie Yingwen, who was arrested along Yulo Street in Barangay 16 outside a residential area during an operation conducted by BI agents with the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Station 1.

The operation was carried out pursuant to a mission order issued by Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado on Aug. 6.
