An intelligence-driven operation in De Deur, Gauteng, has led to the arrest of five suspects and the discovery of a hydroponic dagga laboratory valued at more than R1 million.
Five men - two Jamaicans, two Malawians and one Lesotho national - have been arrested after Gauteng police uncovered a hydroponic dagga laboratory worth more than R1 million in De Deur.
The group was arrested on Thursday, August 27, following an intelligence-driven operation in De Deur, Sedibeng District.
The operation was conducted by members of Gauteng Counter-Intelligence Narcotics, Gauteng Organised Crime, West Rand K9, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), National Cybercrime and private security companies.
Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said officers also recovered a .303 rifle and a 9mm Glock pistol during the operation.
