Three more unmanned aerial vehicles or drone parts have been discovered along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast yesterday, a day after three other drones were found and neutralized, according to the Defense Ministry.
A team from Naval Base Varna was sent to inspect an unmanned aerial vehicle spotted in the sea about eight nautical miles south of Kavarna. Specialists determined that the object was a section of a drone’s tail and transported it to the naval base after completing the inspection under safety procedures.
Another specialized team was deployed after an object was reported in the Black Sea waters near the Kamchia resort. The team identified it as an unmanned aerial vehicle and established that it was not carrying an explosive substance. The object was also taken to Naval Base Varna.
Meanwhile, specialists from Naval Base Burgas were called to investigate another object spotted about 1,000 to 1,500 meters offshore near the town of Chernomorets in the Sozopol municipality. The ministry did not provide further details about the object.
The military teams are carrying out the operations on orders from the Chief of Defense and the Commander of the Naval Forces.
