Information about six people from Telangana was received through the helpline numbers set up by the State government after devastating flash floods at Nepal-Tibet border. Besides, officials have also verified information about 17 NRIs of Telangana origin. A person from Rangareddy district, who had travelled for Kailash–Manasarovar Yatra, has now been confirmed safe and has established contact with his family, as per a press release issued on Thursday. Officials said they continued to follow-up on details of the remaining 22 persons in coordination with the authorities concerned. As per the press release, several of the persons concerned were travelling in the Nepal–Tibet region, including those proceeding towards or returning from the Manasarovar Yatra. Their last known locations include areas around Rasuwa, Rasuwagadhi and Gyirong on the Nepal–Tibet border. The government on Wednesday night had announced phone numbers of the helpline set up at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, to extend help to people from Telangana in Nepal. The numbers were 9871999044; 9949351270 and 9618597969. Altogether, around 100 calls were received from family members and others seeking information and assistance. For better coordination, officials asked for fee details including name, passport number, mobile number, current location or last known location in Nepal, details of travel operators and family members.
