Living quarters for the personnel of Peelamedu fire station in Coimbatore city was inaugurated by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Thursday (August 27). The five-story living quarters comprise two-bedroom apartments.Administrative sanction for the project was given in October 2024, and the construction was carried out by the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation.N. Vijayakumar, Joint Director, Fire and Rescue Services Department, West Zone; District Officer K. Ganesan, K. Thirumalaisamy, Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation, were among those who took part in the event.Another living quarters for the personnel of Mettupalayam Fire Station, constructed at a cost of ₹2.35 crore, was also commissioned by the Chief Minister.
