Synopsys just reported Q3 fiscal year 2026 revenue of $2.48 billion, a 42% increase year-over-year, and CEO Sassine Ghazi took to CNBC to explain why the company’s trajectory looks less like a steady climb and more like a rocket strapped to a GPU.

Synopsys raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $9.69 billion to $9.74 billion and bumped its adjusted earnings per share forecast to $15.04 to $15.10.

The Nvidia factor

On December 1, 2025, Nvidia made a $2 billion equity investment in Synopsys, picking up shares at $414.79 each.

The partnership centers on integrating Nvidia’s GPU-accelerated computing stack into Synopsys’s electronic design automation (EDA) platform. Nvidia’s CUDA technology lets simulations run on GPUs instead of CPUs. Synopsys is also leveraging Omniverse, Nvidia’s platform for building digital twins, to create virtual replicas of entire chip systems, allowing engineers to test designs in simulated environments before committing to silicon.
