United Forum of Bank Unions (UBFU) staged a demonstration here on Thursday, demanding the withdrawal of performance-linked incentive schemes, implementation of a five-day banking week and several other pending demands.As part of the nationwide protest, a demonstration was held on Beach Road in Thoothukudi.The protestors called for the withdrawal of the performance-linked incentive scheme, and described it as the government’s unilateral and discriminatory one as it would disproportionately benefit a small section of officers and undermine the principle uniformity in incentive across cadres. The protesters also urged for a five-day banking week.The members from various branches participated in the protest and raised slogans in support of their demands.
