Argentine race driver Franco Colapinto was confirmed as Alpine F1’s driver for the 2027 season on Thursday.
The French team confirmed the news in the morning with a video clip featuring Colapinto, team principal Flavio Briatore and teammate Pierre Gasly.
In it, Briatore is gifted a painting of himself and the driver, points out that it is the 2026 driver lineup, and promptly asks the Argentine driver if he wants to be in it for 2027.
The team later uploaded a flurry of content featuring Colapinto, including a video message from him.
“I’m really happy to be part of this family, part of a team that gave me an amazing opportunity. I’m very grateful to everyone on the team,” he said.
