Bernstein forecast Wednesday that bitcoin could reach $300,000 per token by the end of 2029, citing a revival of the debasement trade — the rotation into scarce or tangible assets as a hedge against a weakening U.S. dollar.
Analyst Gautam Chhugani said in a note to clients that the firm's price-to-marginal cost framework points to a market peak of $300,000 by 2029 and a recovery to a new all-time high of $150,000 by mid-2027. At bitcoin's last trading price of $78,045.70, the $300,000 target would represent a gain of roughly 285%.
