Linda Govender is appealing for credible information after her daughter, Terricia, was caught up in a flash flood near the Nepal - Tibet border while travelling with an Isha Foundation pilgrimage group.
Her whereabouts remain unconfirmed.
Govender said her daughter was at the Gyirong Immigration Office near the Nepal–China border when the devastating flash flood occurred on Wednesday.
“Isha Foundation has been in communication with us and is working with the relevant teams and authorities to obtain information and assist with the situation. We are deeply grateful for their efforts during this incredibly difficult time,” said Govender.
“We are still waiting for confirmed information regarding Terricia’s whereabouts. As her mother, this uncertainty is extremely difficult, and I am asking from the bottom of my heart that you please keep Terricia in your prayers,” she said.
