Lisk, the blockchain platform that launched in 2016 with ambitions of making decentralized applications accessible to JavaScript developers, is pulling the plug on its own chain. The Lisk Chain will cease operations on October 31, 2026, and any LSK tokens left on it after that date will become permanently inaccessible.
What users need to do right now
Users holding or staking LSK on the Lisk Chain need to bridge their tokens to Ethereum using either Superbridge or Lisk Bridge before the shutdown date.
One important caveat: the bridging process requires at least seven days to complete. So anyone planning to wait until the last minute on October 31 has already waited too long.
After the chain goes dark, tokens that haven’t been moved will be stranded. There’s no recovery mechanism, no appeals process, no retroactive bridge.
