Players show what they’re capable of as they try to earn roster spots. Coaches make their remaining cuts. Fans knock on any and all wooden surfaces for 16 injury-free games.In addition to the usual NFL Network preseason broadcasts, there are two other national TV spots to look out for this weekend. Thursday’s matchup between the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns is on Prime Video, while the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles get a CBS airing on Friday.There are some customary crosstown scrimmages as well. Los Angeles sees its Rams and Chargers tune up together. New York’s Giants and Jets share their Meadowlands turf. The Washington Commanders visit the Baltimore Ravens in a regional DMV duel, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers link up with the Jacksonville Jaguars for a little Florida cooking.A few notable names are going to get reps. Justin Herbert is leading the Chargers’ first-team offense for a bit, according to Jim Harbaugh. And Kevin Stefanski said the Atlanta Falcons will play their starters, with Tua Tagovailoa getting another shot under center while Michael Penix Jr. continues to ease back into live football.
