Ethan Miller / Getty ImagesAug. 20, 2026 6:00 am EDT Updated We move closer to the NFL season with a second slate of preseason games. Once again, we tap the engraved “PLEASE NO INJURIES” sign and hope that these exhibitions are without consequence. All 32 teams get a tune-up between Thursday and Sunday, and nine of them land on a national broadcaster.Much was learned across the opening preseason weekend. First overall pick Fernando Mendoza looked sharp in silver and black as he led his Las Vegas Raiders on a scoring drive. Fellow rookie quarterback Ty Simpson tossed two touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams, while Drew Allar posted three total TDs for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Second-round wideout De’Zhaun Stribling caught seven passes, and his emergence will be critical to the banged-up San Francisco 49ers.There were some bad vibes as well. Jeremiyah Love, the Arizona Cardinals’ No. 3 draft pick, put up 72 scrimmage yards from the backfield before he went down with a high ankle sprain. Minnesota Vikings veteran safety Jamal Adams tore his quad tendon; his season is now over. And the grass at the Buffalo Bills’ brand-new stadium got less-than-stellar reviews.Let’s see what happens in the second week of scrimmages. Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield and Bo Nix will all get to lead drives, according to their respective head coaches. The Cleveland Browns are expected to start Shedeur Sanders under center after Deshaun Watson opened their first game. Maybe we’ll even see A.J. Brown line up against his former team when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New England Patriots on Saturday night.Check out the full schedule below. You can watch in-market and national preseason games on Fubo (Stream Free Now).NFL preseason Week 2 scheduleAll times are ET.
