Smoke was seen rising over the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, following a drone attack.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Astra OSINT outlet based on an analysis.
Photographs taken by eyewitnesses and analyzed by Astra show smoke over the territory of the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery.
Earlier on Thursday, reports emerged that Bashkortostan had come under a UAV attack. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that drones had allegedly been shot down over the region. Ufa’s airport was temporarily closed.
The Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery is one of the leading oil refineries operated by PJSC Rosneft. The facility specializes in deep processing of hydrocarbon feedstocks and the production of fuels, lubricants and aromatic hydrocarbons.
