AEM has announced that it will unveil the next stage in the development of its heavy-duty electric motor technology at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hannover, Germany, from 15 to 20 September 2026. To date, the British company has offered the HDRM150 and HDRM300C motors under its HDRM motor family for commercial vehicles and industrial applications. The new electric motor, now branded as Titan, is described by AEM as “the largest and highest-torque motor in the HDRM family to date”. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed further details such as the motor’s power and torque figures ahead of the trade fair.
The public premiere at the Hannover trade fair will be in a live-digital format. AEM has announced a detailed 3D model that visitors can use to explore the new motor to gain an initial insight into AEM’s next-generation heavy-duty platform. The first samples of the motor are expected to be available in the third quarter of 2027.
In addition to the Titan premiere, AEM will showcase its integrated, air-cooled electric drive system, the HDRM150, at IAA Transportation. This easily installable drop-in solution is an auxiliary motor with up to 700 volts and a peak output of around 30 kW. The drive combines the HDRM150 with an air-cooled inverter and operates without rare earth elements or liquid cooling. According to AEM, it is particularly suited for demanding auxiliary applications in the off-highway sector. At the IAA, the auxiliary motor will also be demonstrated at the SAF-HOLLAND stand, where the HDRM150 is integrated into the company’s e-axle as a generator for regenerative energy recovery. AEM can be found at Stand B40 in Hall 12.
