President Volodymyr Zelensky, following another overnight Russian air attack, called on partners to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, including through the PURL mechanism.
He stressed that important decisions had been made this week by Ukraine’s European allies to strengthen the country’s air defense.
According to Ukrinform, the Head of State said this in a Facebook post.
“Russia continues to invest in missiles and in expanding its war, and that means more countermeasures are needed. This week, our European allies made important decisions to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. It is important that these are also supplemented by additional ballistic missile defense packages, first and foremost through PURL. Everything that strengthens the protection of our skies effectively saves the lives of Ukrainians every day. To bring down Russia’s desire to keep fighting, we need to effectively bring down the missiles Moscow clings to so much to keep the war going,” Zelensky said.
He noted that efforts to deal with the aftermath of Russia’s attack on regions across Ukraine had been underway since overnight. The President said it was a combined strike involving drones and ballistic missiles.
