Two brothers were electrocuted at a poultry farm at Akkaparamba, Keezhattur, near Perinthalmanna, on Wednesday (August 26, 2026) when they came in contact with live power lines.Those killed were Sahir Navas, 36, and Mohammed Fasil Murshid, 32, sons of Hamza Pattikkadan. They were from Ezhuthala, Vettathur, near Perinthalmanna.The brothers had brought poultry feed to the farm and were returning to their vehicles when the accident occurred. They were rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.The police suspect that the power lines had been erected without authorisation to keep wild boars away. An investigation is under way.The bodies were shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Manjeri, for postmortem examination on Thursday (August 27).The bodies will be kept at the Munawwarul Islam Madrasa auditorium for the public to pay homage and will be buried at the cemetery attached to the Juma Masjid, Vettathur.
