Abdeslam Ouaddou believes Thapelo Mokobodi's tactical intelligence and pre-season conditioning under Gavin Hunt have allowed the 23-year-old to hit the ground running at Orlando Pirates.
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is pleased with the seamless integration of midfielder Thapelo Mokobodi into the team, praising counterpart Gavin Hunt for starting the process.
Mokobodi has started Pirates’ last three games, winning all three – after the team beat Chippa United and Sekhukhune United in the league, while also defeating Sekhukhune in the MTN8 semi-final first leg in Polokwane.
Despite Pirates boasting a strong midfield contingent, they have battled injuries to key central midfielders Sihle Nduli and Thalente Mbatha since the start of the season.
As such, the seamless adaptation of Mokobodi has been timely. The 23-year-old is comfortable on the ball, closes spaces effectively against the run of play, and provides accurate distribution in possession.
