GAMPHANI Lungu came off the bench to score Orlando Pirates' winning goal as they beat Durban City 2-1 to advance to the MTN8 semi-finals.
ORLANDO Pirates will have to get past Sekhukhune United in their bid to win a fifth successive MTN8 title.
Pirates were pushed into the deep embers of extra time in their 2-1 quarter-final victory over MTN8 debutants Durban City last Saturday in Soweto, with Ghampani Lungu scoring the decisive goal in the 120th minute.
Sekhukhune United got the better of KwaZulu-Natal outfit AmaZulu in a thrilling 4-3 win, which also needed extra time to separate the teams.
The second semi-final will see Mamelodi Sundowns face Golden Arrows, who sent Kaizer Chiefs packing with a 1-0 win at FNB Stadium. African champions Sundowns also needed extra time to dispose of a gallant Polokwane City outfit 3-2.
