HYDERABAD: A delegation of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) visited Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam to discuss strengthening of institutional cooperation, particularly in education, research, student internships and capacity building.
The FAO Pakistan delegation led by Officer-in-Charge James Robert Okoth met SAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal and discussed ways of cooperation.
Other members of the delegation included Maria Usman, assistant FAO representative (Administration); Pedro Grazon, project manager, RAFAA; and Dr Ashfaque Ahmed Nahiyoon, provincial coordinator of GCF Project.
Appreciating the FAO Pakistan’s continued support to the agriculture sector, the VC said Sindh was among the regions facing serious challenges from changing climatic conditions. He said the situation had placed greater responsibility on agricultural experts and institutions to provide practical support to farmers.
