(1st UPDATE) An initial study of Planet Labs satellite imagery indicate that a landslide of ice and rock triggered a debris-laden flood in the Lhende River, Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority says
Rescue efforts are ongoing in Nepal and Tibet after a catastrophic mudslide and flooding caused by the collapse of a glacier, leaving hundreds missing and many dead.
Around 340 foreigners, including tourists from the US, Australia, Britain, and Canada, are among the missing, with significant destruction reported in mountain towns and valleys.
