A fire outbreak was recorded at a petrol filling station in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State on Tuesday night, with firefighters preventing the blaze from spreading to other parts of the facility.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred at Tukur Muhd Nig. Limited, located along Saya Saya Road, Rano, at about 9:20pm.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the agency’s Emergency Response Unit at Rano Fire Station received a distress call from the filling station’s manager, Abubakar Umar, reporting the fire outbreak.
“On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, at about 21:20 hours, our Emergency Response Unit received a distress call from Abubakar Umar, the manager of Tukur Muhd Nig. Limited, reporting a fire outbreak at the premises,” the statement said.
