A worker was rescued alive on Sunday after a fence wall collapsed during a demolition exercise at Kofar Mata Zango in the Kano Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the agency’s Emergency Response Unit received a distress call at about 8:49 a.m. from one Naziru Ahmad, reporting the incident.
Firefighters from the service headquarters were immediately deployed to the scene, where they found that a residential building measuring about 30 by 20 feet was being demolished.
The statement said the fence wall suddenly became unstable during the exercise, trapping one of the workers, identified as Sadiq Ahmad, as he attempted to escape.
