More than three years after the Lagos State High Court ordered the Nigeria Police to pay N400m compensation to the families of four Ladipo Market traders allegedly extra-judicially killed by policemen, the beneficiaries have returned to court, seeking an order compelling the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to enforce the judgement.

The applicants, Akaraka Ezeonara and Ekwulobia Imeobi Obinwanne Youth Association, are asking the Lagos State High Court to issue an order of mandamus compelling the respondents to comply with the judgment delivered by Justice Olufunke Sule-Amzat on March 15, 2023.
The applicants filed the suit as judgment creditors and representatives of the indigent families of the four victims.
They are also seeking an order compelling the AGF to exercise his powers under Section 174(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution and issue the necessary fiat, consent or order required to enforce the judgment.
