The Nigerian Ports Authority said it has facilitated the recovery and clearance of critical power equipment belonging to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited that had been abandoned and left idle at various Nigerian seaports.
The intervention, according to the NDPHC, is expected to accelerate the implementation of critical power projects across the country while helping the company avert potential losses running into billions of naira, a statement by the NPA on Monday indicated.
According to the statement, the Managing Director, NDPHC, Jennifer Adighije, disclosed this when she led members of the company’s management team on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, and his management team in Lagos over the weekend.
Adighije commended the NPA for its timely intervention, describing the recovery and clearance of the equipment as “critical to strengthening Nigeria’s power infrastructure and ensuring the effective delivery of ongoing and planned power projects.”
