Uber’s Longer-Term Trend Is Still in Repair Mode

A January death cross, when the 50-day moving average dropped beneath the 200-day, still lingers as a source of hesitation for traders who like to see a trend line sloping cleanly upward without interruption. That said, nothing about the near-term action looks damaged. The stock is holding above its 200-day average near $76.90 and has pushed roughly 5.7% past its 20-day average of $75.30, evidence that short-term buying interest remains solid even as the longer-run trend continues its slow recovery.

The MACD indicator tells a similarly encouraging near-term story, tracking above its own signal line with the histogram reading positive, which points to a recent stretch where the stock has been losing less ground to sellers than it did during its earlier slide. Put another way, day-to-day trading has been tilting in buyers’ favor, though that hasn’t yet translated into the kind of decisive shift that would fully repair the longer-term chart.
