Africa’s entrepreneurs are struggling to turn viable business ideas into due to lack of reliable mechanisms connecting people with capital to those with viable business ideas, entrepreneurs, and investors have said.
They also highlighted gaps in access to mentorship, and accessible research capable of providing entrepreneurs and investors with the information needed to make informed decisions.
The concerns were raised in Abuja at the launch of Mintage Africa, a Nigerian-born wealth creation platform established to connect entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and opportunities across Africa.
Speaking at the launch, Memshak Obioha, co-founder of Mintage Africa, said the platform was created to help build a new generation of wealth owners by bringing together key stakeholders within the African economic ecosystem.
Obioha said opportunities in entrepreneurship, investment, careers and development finance already exist across the continent, but limited access to information prevents many people from taking advantage of them.
