A woman in her late 40s has been arrested for allegedly burying her grandchild alive at Akrofoso-Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The suspect, identified by residents as Akua Abrokwaa, allegedly buried the child immediately after birth, reportedly claiming that the father of the baby had refused to accept responsibility.

According to a publication by GhanaWeb on Wednesday, the Assembly Member for the area, Quaino Dadzie, said residents alerted him after suspecting that something was wrong.
