FORMER lady vice chairwoman of the PNM Women's League Camille Robinson-Regis has threatened legal action against an online Facebook page, 'The Daily Press', over the publication of what she has described as inaccurate and misleading comments attributed to her.The Member of Parliament for Trincity/Maloney said in a Facebook post yesterday that she had taken note of a post by 'The Daily Press' which stated that she had issued a release accusing San Fernando East MP Brian Manning of undermining the People's National Movement (PNM).The post featured a photograph of Manning, with Robinson- Regis' photograph in the upper right corner, with a caption that read 'Camille Robinson-Regis and the PNM Women's Arm fires back at Manning over party process.'Regis stated that the allegation in that post was 'completely false.'She distanced herself from the original news release issued by the party's Women's League, noting that following the PNM's internal election in 2025, she ceased to hold the position of lady vice chairman of the party.'As such, I have no affiliation whatsoever with the release referenced in 'The Daily Press' Facebook post,' said Robinson- Regis.'Furthermore, during my entire tenure as lady vice chairman, I never issued a release through the Women's League seeking to lecture, reprimand, or publicly chastise a sitting PNM Member of Parliament.'The suggestion that I would be responsible for such a release is therefore both inaccurate and misleading,' she asserted.Robinson-Regis called on 'The Daily Press' to immediately remove the post and issue a clear and unequivocal apology for attributing the release to her. 'I expect the publication to correct the record and ensure that its readers and followers are not left with a false impression of my involvement.'Should 'The Daily Press' fail to remove the post and provide an appropriate apology, I will have no choice but to pursue the necessary legal remedies to protect my name and reputation.'Robinson-Regis said she remained committed to the principles of accuracy, accountability, and responsible public communication. 'And I will not allow false statements concerning my involvement in party affairs to go unchallenged.'Member of Parliament for St Ann's East Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly currently holds the position of lady vice chairman of the People's National Movement (PNM).The Express sent a message to 'The Daily Press' page seeking a response but received none.Having not received a response, the Express checked whether the post had been removed and observed that it remained on the page.'Should 'The Daily Press' fail to remove the post and provide an appropriate apology, I will have no choice but to pursue the necessary legal remedies to protect my name and reputation.'
