Onam, the festival of Keralam, was celebrated with traditional fervour in neighbouring Kanniyakumari district with special prayers, athapookalam, dance, swing and of course, sumptuous onasadya, the pinnacle of the celebration.A massive ‘kathakali face’ pookalam was created in Thovalai flower market, the chief supplier of flowers to various parts of Keralam and other parts of Tamil Nadu where Onam is celebrated in a big way.
