Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued two kidnap victims in separate operations in Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State, the Joint Task Force said on Wednesday.

Operation ENDURING PEACE is the military task force currently conducting counter-terrorism and internal security operations across Plateau State.

According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Captain Chinonso Oteh, the rescues were part of “ongoing decisive operations across the various Local Government Areas of Plateau State.”

The statement said the operations were “conducted as part of deliberate efforts aimed at denying terrorists elements freedom of action across the State” and had “recorded appreciable successes as corroborated by some eye witnesses and community leaders.”

Giving details, the statement noted, “As part of the ongoing Operations, at about 09:00am on Tuesday, 25 August 2025, troops of sector 3 deployed within Bassa Local Government Area, acting on a credible information on the kidnap of one Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo, initiated search and rescue operation leading to the successful rescue of the kidnapped victim.”
