Norway will give Ukraine 85 billion kroner ($9.2 billion) in 2027, matching this year’s contribution, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said, pledging continued military and civilian support as Ukraine heads into what he called a difficult winter. The announcement came as Støre visited Kyiv on Sunday, Aug. 23, together with leaders from across the Nordic and Baltic region, in a show of support for Ukraine as it continues fighting Russia’s full-scale invasion. Of the total, 70 billion kroner ($7.5 billion) is earmarked for military aid and 15 billion kroner ($1.6 billion) for civilian support – the same split used in prior years, Støre said in an interview with Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, according to Norwegian news agency NTB. Norway’s government will hold a budget conference next week to finalize its 2027 budget proposal before submitting it to parliament. “Norway will continue to support Ukraine’s defense struggle. Ukraine is facing a tough winter. Now we are giving a clear signal that Norway will continue to stand by, both civilian and military,” Støre said. Støre also delivered a speech in Kyiv at a ceremony marking Ukraine’s State Flag Day. “Supporting and rebuilding Ukraine is not assistance alone.
