ALABWABA - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) announced Wednesday reached an agreement with Oman regarding each party's share of the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the allocation of its revenues.The IRGC confirmed that the Iranian navy is in full control of the strait, denying the presence of any "enemy" military ships, adding that the maritime passage located near the Sultanate of Oman is under Iran's "full control".The army also promised to reopen the key waterway if the U.S. abandons imposing obstacles and returns to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreed on June 17.The Revolutionary Guard further claimed that Washington is suffering from a shortage in securing its strategic weapons.Axios reported earlier, citing U.S. President Donald Trump, that the Navy had removed all mines planted by Iran in the main route in the Strait of Hormuz.Iranians enjoy the seaside as vessels are seen in the Strait of Hormuz off Bandar Abbas, in southern Iran on August 10, 2026. However, the talks later stalled over disagreements on security guarantees and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategic routes for global energy supplies and trade.Between July 8 and July 24, the U.S. and Iran exchanged military attacks, with Washington firing on targets inside Iran, while Tehran attacked American military facilities and equipment in Arab countries, including Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
