A Hungarian tourist visiting the Manavgat district of Antalya province in southern Türkiye embraced Islam after being inspired by verses from the Quran. Petrin Kornel, 42, decided to become Muslim after researching the religion.

A conversion ceremony was held for Kornel at the Manavgat District Mufti Office, where he was informed about the basic principles of Islam.

Kornel then recited the Shahada and embraced Islam, taking the name “Abbas.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Abbas said reading the Quran had brought a sense of peace and calm to his life.

“As I read the Quran, I began to feel a sense of calm, humility, relief and peace that I had never experienced before,” he said.
