Fully AI-generated songs will be excluded from Australia’s official music charts under new rules aimed at protecting human creativity.
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) said on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, that recordings primarily generated by AI will not be eligible for the ARIA Charts.
However, music created by humans with AI used in a supporting role will remain eligible.
The changes will take effect from the ARIA Chart dated Monday, August 31, with the updated chart published on Friday, August 28.
