Opposition parties "We Continue the Change" (PP) and "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB) are set to support Andrey Gyurov's bid for president and Georgi Kandev's candidacy for vice president, according to PP lawmaker Radoslav Ribarski.
Speaking on NOVA NEWS, Ribarski said the two parties are expected to formally announce their support for the candidates. He did not provide further details on when the official announcement would be made.
Ribarski said PP's priorities for the new parliamentary season largely remain the issues left unresolved from the previous one, including the implementation of the 2026 budget and monitoring the government's program and whether its stated commitments are being fulfilled.
He said the party would closely scrutinize preparations for the 2027 budget, particularly the projected deficit.
"Regarding the 2027 budget, we sincerely wish we did not see such a huge deficit," Ribarski said, adding that PP would again demand a clear breakdown of government spending and an explanation of where the allocated funds are going.
