Remanso by Nacho Duato Cape Ballet Africa ELYSIUM at The Baxter.

Hot on the heels of a triumphant run of Swan Lake in Johannesburg, the rapidly ascending Cape Ballet Africa (CBA) is set to captivate Cape Town audiences with its highly anticipated Spring Season.

From 3 to 11 October, the company will present ELYSIUM at The Pam Golding Theatre at The Baxter, a quadruple bill that underscores the organisation’s commitment to both classical mastery and contemporary innovation.

ELYSIUM brings together an exquisite selection of works from four distinct choreographic voices: George Balanchine, Nacho Duato, Kenneth Tindall, and Michelle Reid.

Opening the programme is Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, a joyous, expansive celebration of romanticism set to Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 3. This cornerstone of the repertoire was staged for CBA by Diana White of the George Balanchine Trust.
