MANILA, Philippines — The proposed number of infrastructure projects to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for 2027 drastically decreased compared to the previous years due to the removal of duplicate projects and other measures, its secretary Vince Dizon said on Wednesday.
During the House Committee on Appropriations’ briefing on the agency’s proposed budget for next year, Dizon said DPWH projects are typically estimated at over 20,000. In his presentation, he said that there were 22,836 projects for 2023; 25,545 projects for 2024; 25,301 projects for 2025; 17,861 projects for 2026; and 11,395 projects for 2027.
