Earlier this year we learned that Motorola was working with the folks behind the security-hardened version of Android called GrapheneOS. Now it looks like the fruits of that labor are expected to ripen next year. While Motorola isn’t expected to ship any phones with the operating pre-installed, GrapheneOS plans to add official support for some high-end Motorola smartphones, thanks to help from the Motorola team, making these the first non-Pixel devices to officially support GrapheneOS.In other recent tech news from around the web, Apple is introducing two new desktops powered by next-gen chips that should bring big performance gains, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld gaming PC will be available soon without the bundle deal that includes an expensive pair of AR glasses, and Lenovo launched a new gaming handheld in China, but it’s a budget device made for streaming rather than local gameplay. The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 (2024) probably won’t support GrapheneOS, but something like it could soon. The first Motorola phones to officially support GrapheneOS are coming in 2027. The security-hardened version of Android won’t be pre-installed, but they’ll be the first non-Pixel devices supported. Only high-end models will be supported at launch though. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026…[image or embed]— Liliputing (@liliputing.bsky.social) August 25, 2026 at 12:15 PMThe Arduino VENTUNO Q is now up for pre-order for $299.
