Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi says new “temporary” route through Strait of Hormuz agreed to with Oman, but that US must “return to its commitments” under Memorandum of Understanding for the waterway to be opened.
US President Donald Trump claims the US Navy “removed and/or detonated” all mines within the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz, and warns that “any new ship or boat placing new mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed”.
