A gesture by Air Peace staff and passengers to honour Nigerian military personnel with a standing ovation while boarding a flight in Abuja has attracted widespread commendation on social media.
In a video circulating online, military personnel were invited to board an Air Peace flight, prompting airline staff to stand and applaud as they made their way to the aircraft. Passengers subsequently joined in the spontaneous show of appreciation.
The gesture followed an initiative by the airline’s Chairman, Allen Onyema, directing staff to accord priority boarding and applause to military and police personnel in recognition of their service and sacrifice.
