A total of 17 prominent Ukrainians and foreign nationals, including American actor Sean Penn, rock band Braty Hadiukiny and TV presenter Alla Mazur, have received the National Legend of Ukraine award from President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The award ceremony was held in Kyiv in the presence of President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska.
“After the first ‘Legend,’ after we marked the 30th anniversary of our independence, the full-scale war began. Today, we are celebrating 35 years of independence, and we have a state, we have independence, and we have our strong warriors,” Zelensky said before presenting the awards.
He separately highlighted Ukraine’s foreign partners who support the country, including American actor Sean Penn, who personally attended the ceremony.
