The minister expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones in the violence and urged the Osun State Police Command and other security agencies to take immediate action to restore order.

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has condemned the escalating post-election violence and killings in parts of Osun State, calling on security agencies to swiftly arrest those responsible.

Oyetola, who is also a former governor of Osun State, in a statement shared on X on Tuesday, said the violence was a grave threat to the peace, heritage and democratic values of the state.

He said no political ambition, localised transition or commercial interest could justify the killing of anyone.

“I am deeply concerned by the escalating post-election violence and the tragic loss of lives across parts of Osun State,” Oyetola said.
