Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Netflix is gearing up for the release of Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Season 2.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the new season Tuesday.

Tales from '85 is an animated spinoff of Netflix's hit live-action series Stranger Things, which had a five-season run between 2016 and 2025. The show takes place in-between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original series.

In the Season 2 trailer, fan-favorite characters including Eleven (voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt), Mike Wheeler (Luca Diaz), Dustin Henderson (Braxton Quinney), Max Mayfield (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and Will Byers (Ben Plessala) encounter mysterious flowers from the Upside Down and take on what appears to be a ghost.

"We think that the kids are going back to their normal lives, but we start to discover that these flowers are popping up all over Hawkins," showrunner Eric Robles told Netflix's Tudum.
