The leaders of France and the United Kingdom agreed to grant Ukraine a license to produce Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
The head of state announced this during a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis in Kyiv, according to Ukrinform.
Asked whether France and the United Kingdom had given a positive response to granting Ukraine a license to produce Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles, Zelensky said: “We received confirmation from the United Kingdom. (...) Before that, we spoke with Emmanuel [Macron, President of France – ed.] several days ago, and he confirmed to me that the issue of SCALP and the licenses had been unblocked. We were waiting for a positive response from the United Kingdom. We received a positive response from both countries yesterday.”
The president expressed hope that these positive decisions would not “get bogged down in the bureaucracies of our countries.”
