Google Cloud just made its most targeted play yet for the legal industry. The company unveiled Gemini Enterprise for Legal, an AI platform built specifically for law firm workflows, complete with contract review capabilities, regulatory scanning, and connectors to the document management systems lawyers already use every day.

The launch, announced by Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, arrived alongside a parallel product called Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services.

What the platform actually does

Gemini Enterprise for Legal is structured around four core components, each addressing a different pain point in the legal technology stack.

First, purpose-built legal skills. Think contract review and regulatory scanning, the kind of tasks that junior associates have historically handled through sheer volume of reading. The platform is designed to execute these at machine speed while maintaining the citation traceability that legal work demands.
