Travel for passengers from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, will be cheaper by ₹235 due to a revised User Development Fee (UDF) effective from September 1, 2026.The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has notified UDF for both departing and arriving passengers as part of the tariff order for the fourth control period (2026-31).For domestic passengers, the UDF for departing passengers will be ₹515 per passenger from September 1, compared with the existing ₹750. Arriving domestic passengers will be charged ₹220 per passenger. For international passengers, the UDF will be ₹1,030 for departing passengers and ₹440 for arriving passengers, against the existing departing UDF of ₹1,500.The revised tariffs will apply from September 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027. AERA said UDF has been determined for both embarking and disembarking passengers as significant airport infrastructure and terminal facilities, including aerobridges, travelators and conveyor belts, are used by both categories of passengers. The allocation is intended to distribute the tariff burden more equitably among airport users.The UDF will change during the five-year control period. Domestic departing UDF will rise to ₹555 in 2027-28, ₹620 in 2028-29 and ₹670 during April-October 2029, before falling to ₹415 from November 2029. Domestic arriving UDF will similarly move from ₹220 to ₹285, before declining to ₹175.The tariff order, issued on August 24, will remain in force until March 31, 2031, according to a release.Published on August 25, 2026
